The following day, the young man arrived at the Cuppa coffee shop a little before seven thirty a.m. It was the first time he’d visited that particular one, indulging the request of the woman he was meeting. He ordered hot tea with milk, took a seat at a table away from the other patrons in the shop, and buried his head in a newspaper. Ten minutes later, a woman tapped him on the shoulder.

“Hi,” she said. “I’m Evie. Are you Eddie?”

“Yes, I’m Eddie.”

“I’m sorry I’m late. Work was a madhouse.”

“Not a problem. I just arrived myself. Did you want to get a hot tea or something before we start?”

She pulled out a metal canister from her purse as she sat. “I already have some. Thank you so much for meeting me on such short notice.”

“Quite all right. I have a flexible schedule.” He smiled at her. “What sort of work do you do?”

“I’m a nurse. I love it, but the hours are brutal. I just finished the night shift.”

“Well, hopefully one day, you’ll have the same flexible schedule that I have.”

“That would be perfect. To leave the rat race and work at home.” Evie stared off into the distance momentarily before looking back at Eddie.

“Let me first start by saying this. Buying and selling cryptocurrencies do come with risks. It’s very easy to lose money. So I tell everyone to only spend what they are comfortable losing. But the upside is tremendous. You’ll most likely make what you lost back and much more.”

“Have you lost a lot of money?”

“I have. Once I lost seventy-five thousand pounds in a few hours.”

“Oh my God! What did you do?”

“My initial investment was ten thousand pounds. I was able to turn that into one hundred and fifty thousand pounds. Even though I lost seventy-five, I was still up. In fact, I had already taken my initial investment out. Anyway, I took whatever free money I had and bought an additional twenty thousand pounds at the lower price. The currency recovered, and I made the seventy-five thousand I had lost back and much, much more.”

“Brilliant. That’s what I want.”

Eddie pulled out his laptop, and for the next thirty minutes, he gave Evie a beginner’s overview of cryptocurrency trading. She listened, occasionally asking for clarification during his presentation.

“What do you think? Are you still interested?” Eddie asked.

“Absolutely. With a small investment. I can easily monitor my holdings with my phone while I’m at work.”

“Of course you can. Once your profits are enough, you can withdraw your initial investment. That way, you never lose the money you originally had, only profit.”

“I’m sold. I definitely want to keep learning from you and get started.”

“I’m happy to hear that. I only mentor a few people at a time, but I can see that you’re excited. Your background in nursing tells me you’re a hard worker.”

“I am, and I promise if you mentor me, I won’t waste your time.”

“I hold group meetings. It’ll be you and two others. We meet at my home.
